A dedicated sanctuary at the heart of the school. The centre will provide pupils with the tools to build resilience, better enabling them to navigate the digital noise, and helping them to stay grounded in themselves and the world around them.
Drama shifts how pupils view themselves and how they treat others. Evidence suggests that playing an active part in shaping stories - whether through script writing, acting, set design or directing - enhances young people's capacity for empathy, influences how they navigate the world and teaches them about the limitlessness of what they can do. By enhancing and expanding our drama facilities, more pupils can step into the spotlight and share their creativity with our community, growing and learning in the process.
Through music, young people master the most human of skills: to create, to convey emotion, and to communicate beyond words or screens. Music takes time, it takes patience, it takes passion. Evidence suggests that pupils who participate in music-making have a greater aptitude for languages, enhanced memory, and can focus on non-music-related tasks for longer. By enhancing our musical facilities, more of our pupils can discover the profound importance of honing a craft; learning that success often means stepping out of your comfort zone, away from the screen, and into the moment.
